A Number of well known LEGO® tracking Websites have recently revealed the first images of the new LEGO® Train sets which are expected to hit the shelves this summer. The first to be revealed is the new Freight Train! The great news for City Train 60336 collectors is that the price tag in the Freight Train is REDUCED compared with its predecessor 60198. Some argue this is because this set becomes with fewer attachments – which may be due to the expected release of a stand-alone Train Station later in the summer, but I think many will see this as a welcome change.
Many LEGO® City enthusiasts are also excited about the availability of “4-Wide” cars in this set which features a car-carrying train with features similar to the City Car Carrying Trailer from a few years back. One of the cars features an electric charging station which then doubles as cargo on the third rail car. An interesting quirk on this set is that its number, 60336, precedes that of its High Speed Passenger Train Counterpart. This deviates from recent numbering convention which has seen the Passenger Train precede the cargo variant by 1.
The Official description of the set is as follows: The LEGO® City Freight Train has arrived with a powerful locomotive and 3 awesome train cars ready to haul all kinds of cargo. Board the reach stacker, load the 2 containers of plants, produce and preserves onto the flatcar, and hoist the EV charging station into the open wagon. Then lower the upper deck of the auto carrier, drive and secure the 2 EVs onboard and prepare for a timely departure!
While reactions have been mixed on the locomotive design – the colors certainly stand out and it will be a unique add that separates itself from past designs. While there haven’t yet been any leaked images of the expected Passenger Train set, you can check out the following sites for detailed reviews on this new Freight Train!
